飘香奥城高中的中国画教学 Chinese Painting Class in Austin Schools

起源于汉代的[中国画]，是一种传统形式的中国绘画。这种采用毛笔蘸水、墨、彩作画于绢或纸上的古老技术，能广泛和逼真地展现人物、山水、花鸟等物和景的风采。

由奥斯汀华裔联盟(ACAN)近期组织的奥斯汀地区中学中国文化推广活动，将[中国画]的美带进了Glenn, Cedar Park, Dominic Savio Catholic，Westwood, Round Rock, Canyon Vista, Cedar Ridge, 和Connally等高中的课堂。

教室里，学生们从临摹简单物品和动物着手。在老师的精心教授下，很多学生都有模有样地完成了自己的[中国画]人生处女作。其中，憨态可爱的大熊猫，迎风而立的湘竹，以及温馨的小鸟和花草都画得可爱有趣。学生们也为自己的初学作品而自豪。他们的笑容里写满了体会到[中国画]之美的快乐。

参加义务教学和辅助工作的蘭宇，Grace桂珍，采姣，海舟，黄瑾，王艳红和Sunny等义工与学校的中文老师们协同配合，不仅保证各种教学用品及时到位，还把每节课都办得生动活泼。让这些第一次接触[中国画]的学生们不仅对[中国画]有了初步的认识，也通过参与实际画作过程，了解到了一些[中国画]的基本技术手法。

Chinese painting dates back to the Han Dynasty, more than 2000 years ago. This ancient form of painting uses traditional techniques with water, ink, and colors, on silk or paper and covers a broad range of subjects such as portraits, landscapes, flowers, birds, and other objects. The style can be realistic or impressionistic. Now for the first time, as part of the Chinese culture promotion campaign sponsored by the Austin Chinese-American Network (ACAN), schools in the Greater Austin area have brought the beauty of ancient Chinese painting into the classrooms. The participating schools include: LASA, Glenn, Cedar Park, Dominic Savio Catholic, Westwood, Round Rock, Cedar Ridge, Westlake, Vandegrift, Connally, and Canyon Vista Middle School.

In the classroom, students started out by imitating a painting of simple still objects and animals. With volunteer instructors’ patient guidance on painting techniques, many students have completed their paintings. Some students painted cute giant pandas, others painted the bamboo in the wind, as well as the lovely flowers and chipping birds. They are also very proud of their work and appreciative of the beauty of Chinese painting, given the fact that they spent just a few classes on learning the Chinese painting techniques. The volunteers worked with schools’ Chinese teachers to ensure that the supplies are in order and lessons interesting and fun. For most of students this is the first time they encountered Chinese painting. Through this program they have not only learned some unique Chinese painting techniques, but also created some cool works of art of their own.
