ACAN Approved 41 PVSA Applications in 2020-2021 School Year
ACAN proudly announced that 41 applicants have been approved to receive the President’s Volunteering Service Award for the 2020-2021 school year (September 1st, 2020- August 31, 2021).
It’s our delight to see so many of our youth are doing wonderful works to serve our community (not just the Asian community, but the community in general). They are making significant impacts on education, COVID-19 relief, and senior care, to just name a few. They reached far beyond Austin, to New Orleans, to China and the world.
ACAN will continue to support our members, families, and youth to serve our community and foster our heritage. Please join us in this endeavor!

41 youth, served 6268 hours in total, average 152 hours per person
The youngest is 13 and the oldest is 18
26 girls and 15 boys
15 of them were 2020 award winners

They are making significant impacts on education, serving underprivileged kids and homeless camp, to just name a few. They reached far beyond Austin, to New Mexico, to China and the world.
Recently, the Rise Together team was awarded the third place in “Project of the Year” and the first place in “People’s Choice Award”, hosted by the Civic Leadership Academy. Their accomplishment is the testament of the character, talent and commitment of our youth, and our community as a whole.
Going forward, ACAN will continue to support our members, families, and youth to serve our community and foster our heritage. Please join us in this endeavor by supporting our youth, becoming a volunteer or mentor.
