The Duke Edinburgh’s International Award is an internationally recognized program for young people, building their skills to equip them for life and work. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service, and experience adventure, the Award can play a critical role in their development.
The Award is a program of activities. Each young person who takes part in the Award learns a skill, improves their physical fitness, volunteers in their community, and experiences a team adventure in a new environment. Success in the Award is measured by regular participation over a fixed period of time while showing commitment and progress in each activity. All participants are supported by a network of adult mentors called Award Leaders, Assessors, and Coordinators.
For selecting the Award Center, you will want to select the Southern Region to find ACAN.
For selecting an Award leader, you will want to say you don’t have an Award leader assigned yet.
For payment, select “Other Method” to bypass the section. ACAN will handle the payment later for you
You can join at any time between 14 and 24 years old.
Once you complete all sections of the specific award (Bronze, Silver or Gold) and verified by your accessors and award leaders, ACAN will work with the HQ to issue you the award. You may be invited to attend an award ceremony.
