ACAN Culture&Art mini-Grant Program

[Press Release] One of ACAN’s missions as a NPO is the fostering of our cultural heritage. This includes organizing and hosting cultural art events of our own, as well as supporting other members and organizations of our community and the events that they organize and host. Following ACAN’s successful application for the Thrive Grant from the Economic Development Division of the City of Austin, ACAN is glad to initiate a mini-grant program for this purpose, funded by ACAN’s Thrive Grant award.

Program Details:

Purpose
To support other Chinese culture/art groups and individuals in organizing and staging culture/art enrichment activities, including but not limited to, exhibits, concerts, recitals, workshops, seminars.

Annual Funding Total

  • Annual total – $10000
  • Up to 20 grants, in the amount of $300 – $1000, until exhausted

Supporting Process

  • Open for application starting Jan.1 (except 2023, which starts 5/1), through Aug. 31, or when the fund is exhausted, whichever comes first.            

     – Applicants to use the application form: https://forms.gle/yqruTAyrR21bxwTj7. ACAN requires sponsorship mentioning in supported events; the exact form of mentioning will be communicated on a case-by-case basis when application is approved
     – ACAN reserves the right to ask for more information, provide financial supports that are different than the amount asked, or reject applications without reason(s)
     – All applications will be reviewed monthly on the last week of the month

  •  Funds should be distributed the 1st week of the following month; or if it falls on public holidays, no later than the end of the 2nd week
  •  At the end of the supported event, grantees are to submit a short report or summary, with video, pictures, audio, or social media posts when appropriate
