ACAN CleanerAustin Action on Brush Creek park

On May 26th, the ACAN CleanerAustin team kicked off the first day of summer break with a park cleaning and team-building event at Brush Creek park. More than 20 volunteers, including both youth and adults, participated in this event. The youngest participant was a fourth-grader. Everyone did an exceptional job, and some of the youth even shared their surprise at not finding enough trash to fill their large bags. Towards the end of the session, a park visitor approached the crew to express her gratitude for their work. She said to our young volunteers, “You may think this is a simple act, but it has a huge influence on people’s lives. I am incredibly grateful for what you are doing.” Additionally, the park officers came to collect the trash that had been picked up and expressed their appreciation to the volunteers.

After the cleaning session, the team gathered at Ryan’s house for a team-building event. We introduced ourselves, played social interactive games, and enjoyed pizza, snacks, and drinks. Most importantly, we laughed together and got to know each other better. If you are interested in joining the cause to keep Austin clean, please sign up for our monthly event at https://www.givepulse.com/event/374384 or join our weChat group via the QR code.
