华盟摄影爱好者的新春’’大餐’’

奥市华盟于3月6日在The Heritage at Hunter Chase的活动中心举办了一场摄影专业讲座。这次讲座讨论了单反镜头的分类和参数，并专题讲解了花卉摄影及微距镜头的应用。大约有30多名摄影爱好者参加了讲座活动，其中不乏摄影初学者和老把式。

华盟理事及华盟摄影组负责人锺斌是这次活动的组织者。他首先帮助大家重温了摄影技术的ABC知识, 诸如，光圈(aperture)、焦距(focal length)，镜头(lens)及其分类和使用等。在此基础上，本地资深摄影师，Steven Ng, 把大家的注意力引向了摄影微距镜头(macro Lens)技术在花卉摄影上的运用。Steven通过向大家展示和讲解几幅他自已及他人的花卉摄影作品例子，让大家看到了摄影技术的广阔应用天地，以及光的折射作用赋予花卉的奇特艺术效果和感染力，令学员们无不惊叹。

在为时二小时的活动期间，学员与教师之间有机会进行近距离的技术交流，使到场的每个人都受益匪浅。而这次讲座中的花卉摄影技巧，也为大家的春日踏青活动增加了新的尝试内容。

ACAN held a popular photography seminar on Mar 6 at The Heritage at Hunter Chase. Almost 30 people showed up for the event. The event organizer and an expert photographer, Bin Zhong started with introducing basic photography concepts like aperture, focal length and different kinds of lens. The renowned local photographer, Steven Ng shared his expertise on macro photography. He showed the audience his previous art works of flowers and explained the tips for taking a good flower picture including selecting an ideal background. The 2 hour seminar was very informative and was well received. The audience from beginners to advanced photography enthusiasts all learned something new while enjoying the yummy snacks.

    【撰稿： 明清 摄影： 华盟义工和学校教师】在奥斯汀华裔联盟2018年举办的奥斯汀地区中学中华文化推广的诸多项目中，[中国书法]项目纳新年之瑞气，结淳香之硕果，于元月十二日举办了别开生面的[2019奥斯汀中学生书法比赛]。 比赛场地设在Cedar Ridge 高中。周六早上九点到下午三点，十一所参与华盟文化推广学校中的八所学校(Glenn HS，LASA HS，Cedar Park HS，Cedar Ridge HS，Westwood HS，Dominic Savio Catholic HS，Round Rock，Vandegrift HS) 的八十位学生来到现场参加比赛。另外三所因当天其他活动冲突的学校(Westlake HS，Canyon Vista MS，Connally HS) 也交上了一百份在各自学校完成的比赛作品。其中，有的中学参赛阵容宠大，达八十人之多，而另一些学校参赛人员则相对较少。然而，每个参赛的学生都以极其认真的态度，挥毫完成了一帧帧刚劲有力的参赛作品。

    ACAN families enjoyed camping workshop at Inks Lake State Park

    [Noah Liu] Austin Chinese-American Network partnered with Texas Outdoor Family, a program under Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to host a private camping workshop for members on 9/7-8 at Inks Lake State Park. Our 18 participating families learned important camping and outdoor skills such as setting up a campsite, building a fire, and cooking outdoors. Participants also had the chance to go kayaking, hiking, fishing, stargazing and geocaching within the park. Our families all enjoyed the event greatly, especially the children! We hope that we can organize a similar event sometime in the future.
